I first learned about the HSR through my school’s upperclassmen and their experience with the Herald Student Reporters. Hearing about the great things the HSR has to provide, I was inspired to apply to the HSR.
As an aspiring journalist and activist, I wanted to pursue my passion for writing beyond my school community. I believed that writing for The Korea Herald as a student reporter would not only help me enhance my writing skills but also deepen my awareness of global events.
I think that writing as a student reporter benefited my studies. Writing as a student reporter positively impacted my studies. Conducting my research on various global events allowed me to connect this knowledge to my classroom learning, broadening my perspective and enriching my academic learning.
Searching through the internet to find interesting news or events was the most memorable aspect of writing for The Korea Herald. Sometimes, I would be inspired by what other student reporters had written about. Even though deciding on a topic to write about was sometimes challenging, I was always excited to share insightful or important information with the world.
Go ahead and apply! By joining the HSR, you can write about any topic that interests you, from culture to current events. At the end of your HSR journey, you will have become not only a great writer but also a deep thinker!
I highly recommend all students to apply! If you are interested in journalism or current events, or if you have a genuine passion for connecting with the wider world, the Herald Student Reporters is a great opportunity for you!
